Enterprises hope to assign IP addresses to fixed office terminals for employees and employees on business trips through DHCP. Among them, the office PC1 (Client_1) of the enterprise manager wants to use a fixed IP address of 192.168.10.100/24 due to business needs. The 10 addresses of 192.168.10.1-192.168.10.10 are reserved without dynamic allocation.

DHCP (Dynamic Host Cnfigrìn Protocol) uses a client/server model to dynamically configure and centrally manage user network parameters. Among them, the DHCP server assigns network parameters such as IP addresses to users through the address pool. Address pools are divided into interface address pools and global address pools.


The interface address pool configuration method is simple, it can only be used in scenarios where the user and the DHCP server are on the same network segment, and can only assign network parameters such as IP addresses to users under the corresponding interface; suitable for limited number of devices, configuration and maintenance Controlled small network. After configuring the DHCP server function based on the interface address pool on the user gateway device, the fixed host, mobile terminal, etc. under the corresponding interface can automatically obtain network parameters such as IP addresses, without manual configuration and modification by the user. Compared with the interface address pool, the global address pool can be applied to large-scale networks. It is recommended to configure the DHCP server function based on the global address pool on the core device or build a dedicated DHCP server in the server area to uniformly assign network parameters such as IP addresses. The user gateway device only needs to enable the simple DHCP relay function.


Two, configuration ideas:


By configuring a DHCP server on the gateway device SW1, it is possible to dynamically allocate IP addresses for the terminals in the two network segments of the enterprise. Among them, the PC in the network segment 192.168.10.0/24 is a fixed office terminal for employees, and the IP address lease period is configured to be 30 days; the network segment 192.168.20.0/24 is for temporary access to the network for business travelers, and the IP address lease period is configured as 1. day. Assign a fixed IP address 192.168.10.100/24 to the administrator PC. The 10 addresses of 192.168.10.1-192.168.10.10 are reserved without dynamic allocation.
